A Canada Road Trip - 2019

We are going to go to take a fall trip to Canada from Sunday 22nd September until Saturday the 28th September 2019. We will fly from New York to Vancouver and drive from there to end up in Calgary after visiting Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff as well as other places along the route. We return from Calgary to New York at the end of the trip.

This is a map of the whole of the Province of British Columbia and the adjacent Province of Alberta. Vancouver the Provincial capital, is right at the bottom close to the US border and our end point at Calgary over the border in Alberta. The Rocky Mountains lie between the two.

"The Rocky Mountains stretch some 3,000 miles from British Columbia and Alberta in Canada through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and down to New Mexico in the U.S. The range offers dramatic wilderness, diverse wildlife and alpine lakes. Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park is traversed by numerous hiking trails and the famously scenic Trail Ridge Road, a 48-mile highway that reaches a high point of 12,183 ft. (3,713 m)
Elevation4,401 m (14,439 ft)
Area991,691 km² (382,922 sq m)
Hopefully we will have some good fall weather although the leaves may have passed by the time we are there.
