Very calm departure. The Carmel Car Service man came at 3.45 p.m, we had put back the departure time as the flight was slightly delayed due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft. The trip to Newark was easy and we were soon checked in for the flight.
The boarding was quick and easy and the flight uneventful although meals had to be purchased which was not a problem and allowed more choice.
Arrival at Vancouver was easy with very quick and efficient immigration and Customs procedures involving machines rather than people.
We went to the AVIS car rental desk to pick up our car and were offered a new dark blue Ford Mustang. This might not seem to be the sort of car that you would want to drive through the Rockies but we thought it would be fun and as it also had a soft top, why not?
We set off for the short trip to the nearby AirBnB where we would spend the night and after a little diversion in the dark, we found the house, parked, unloaded and were inside in no time. It was a small but well appointed apartment which was part of a larger house. There was a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom just enough for what we wanted. It was only ten minutes or so from the report and so no trouble to get to later at night. We were soon asleep.
